A Wedding from a Galaxy Far, Far Away – Lauren & Josh’s Nerd-Inspired Celebration

Some weddings are elegant, some are romantic, and some… are straight-up legendary. Lauren & Josh’s wedding was a dream come true for nerds and fantasy lovers alike, blending the magic of Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, and even SpongeBob into a one-of-a-kind celebration.

With a lightsaber grand entrance, a first dance that featured an EPIC duel, and a Gimli Toss instead of a bouquet, this wasn’t just a wedding—it was a cinematic experience.

An Outdoor Ceremony Fit for a Fantasy Film 💍🌿

Held at The Pines Theater at Look Park, Lauren & Josh’s ceremony felt like something straight out of a storybook adventure.

🎶 Processional: “Concerning Hobbits” – Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

🎶 Bride’s Entrance: “I See the Light” – Tangled (Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Version)

🎶 Recessional: “He’s a Pirate” – Pirates of the Caribbean

And in true Jack Sparrow fashion, the couple planned to cap the moment with a perfect quote:

“A wedding! I love weddings! Drinks all around!” 🏴‍☠️🍻

Cocktail Hour: Classic Rock & Roll Vibes 🎸🍸

As guests transitioned to cocktail hour, classic rock favorites from The Beach Boys, The Monkees, The Beatles, and Bruce Springsteen played in the background, setting the perfect laid-back yet celebratory mood.

A Lightsaber-Worthy Grand Entrance & Epic First Dance ⚔️

When it was time for introductions, Lauren & Josh made sure their wedding party entered in true galactic style.

The wedding party even formed a lightsaber arch as Lauren & Josh made their grand entrance!

Rather than a traditional slow sway, Lauren & Josh put on a SHOW, performing a swordfight and lightsaber battle set to a custom medley featuring:

Let’s be honest—there was no topping this moment.

Dinner & Themed Surprises 🍽️🎶

Dinner was accompanied by Jazz renditions of Disney & Pop Culture songs, creating a cozy yet magical atmosphere.

🎂 Instead of a traditional cake-cutting song, they chose the theme from Spy x Family, adding another fun nod to their favorite fandoms.

The Hora, The Gimli Toss, & A Dance Party for the Ages 💃🕺

Right after the father-daughter and mother-son dances, Lauren & Josh kicked off the dance floor with the Hora, getting lifted into the air as their friends and family cheered them on!

Then came one of the most unique wedding moments ever: The Gimli Toss.

Instead of a bouquet toss, the couple threw a plush Gimli from Lord of the Rings, declaring that whoever caught it would be the next to be visited by Gandalf and sent on an adventure. 🏹🛡️
